CAN MAN BE CALLED HOLY OR SAINTS??


God is holy. He is not selfish. Because of this simple fact, he has given mankind the means to be holy too. It is wrong to say that the word "" holy"" or "" saint"" should only apply to God. The bible says that we are called to be holy. Read through the following passages from the holy Scripture.



1. Be holy for I ,Yahweh God, am holy - Lev. 19:2.

2. You have been sanctified and have become holy because I am holy - Lev. 11:44 & 45.

3. He raised up Aaron,a holy man like Moses, his brother,of the tribe of Levi. - Ecc 45:6.

4. You must therefore be perfect just as your heavenly Father is perfect. - Matt. 5:48'/

5. Be holy yourselves.....- 1 Pet.1:15-16

6. Be sainty and religious... 1 Tim. 6-11

7. To live a holy life is to be holy just as he is holy. - John 3:7-8.

Jesus has called us to share his holiness. Holiness is having life of Jesus and working in his spirit. It is to be like him in thought, word and deed. He said "" I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. - John 10:10

Jesus is the source of our holiness,he wants us to be holy just as our heavenly Father is holy.

If you read through these passages,you will see where the word "" holy"" or "" saint"" is used for mortal men or where we are called to be holy. So having regard to the evidence of the Holy Scripture, men can certainly be holy or saints or addressed as such.
