CLAPPING DURING OR AFTER HOMILY, HEAR WHAT THE CHURCH LEADERS SAID.
'Whenever applause breaks out in the liturgy because of some human achievements, it is sure a sign that the essence of the liturgy has totally disappeared and has been replaced by a kind of religious entertainment.' Pope (Emeritus) Benedict XVI.
'It is not good to applaud the Servant in the House of his Master.' Pope St Pius.
'When we come to Mass, we don't come to clap. We don't come to watch or admire people. We come to adore God, to thank Him, to ask Him pardon for our sins and to ask Him for what we need.' Francis Cardinal Arinze.
Holy Mass is a continuous Calvary sacrifice. You don't go to a place of SACRIFICE to clap.
