The Abeokuta diocesan CYON convention 2017 has been wonderful so far as the camp was officially declared opened by Abeokuta Diocese Vicar General Rev.fr Oriyomi Emmanuel.
He admonished the cyonites to be of good character and also commended the creativity of the CYON as regards innovations that have come into place,especially the NCG media which was set up by cyonites in the Diocese
He also emphasised the fact that the Bishop of the diocese in the person of very Rev Peter Odetoyinbo has the CYON at heart always.
Rev .fr Gilbert Fagbemi also expressed his knowledge on the Catholic Faith during the spiritual recollection and adoration, taking the youths through a period of "" know your faith ""
The convention also took another dimension with the vocations talk coming into place with Rev fr. Lawrence Ogundipe (S.D.V) as the anchor of the programme.Other resource person who gave talk about different vocations are as follows;
Mr nd Mrs Ebomielen (marriage vocation)
Rev Fr Francis omoataman( priestly vocation) amongst others.
The programme continued with entrepreneurship and lectures on the following ;
**ICT training
**Cosmetology
**Agriculture
Thereafter, the rosary procession was lead by the chaplain after which the programme for the day was concluded with the QUIZ competition between 8 Deaneries out of which IFO DEANERY emerged as the overall winner with 18 points
