A Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Moses Akuhwa, of the SS Peter and Paul, Catholic Church, Nyanya has called on the government to dialogue with agitators for the peace and development of the country.
Akuhwa, an associate priest, made the call on Sunday during mass in Nyanya, an outskirt in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to mark the 57th Independence anniversary of Nigeria, on Sunday.
He said that dialogue was the only ways the country can come out of its present situation and be a better nation.
Akuhwa called on Nigerians to trust in God in order to remain united, live peacefully and shun all tendencies that would not take the country to a greater height.
According to him, people must make sacrifices to enable the country achieve its objectives and goals.
He said “we just have a country not a nation because we do not have a common goal.
“If only we sincerely trust God and look unto him, the country will achieve its aims and objectives.

“Due to corruption, crime and unemployment in the country, we have agitators everywhere,’’ Akuhwa said.
He called on parents to bring up their children with the fear of God saying that with the Almighty everything is possible.
“It is only when children are brought up in the ways of the Lord that they will have a brighter and better future,’’ Akuhwa.
He said that Nigerian leaders had failed in their responsibly but added that God can repair any damage done to the country when called upon.
Akuhwa advise Christians not to involve in rigging as the election draws closer but rather should allow the will of God to prevail.
“Jesus encourages us to go beyond the promises we make each day to God. We should take concrete steps to match our promises with action.
“He wants us to go beyond the rituals of our religious obligations and let our belief trickle down to our everyday lives.
“He gives us multiple chances to take up our responsibilities to him,’’ he said.
